Introducing the Etic Lab Twitter Toolkit

The Etic Lab Twitter Toolkit facilitates automated direct messaging, favourites and retweeting, replies, provides recommended follows and reading materials and much, much more! An invaluable tool for both researchers and businesses.

We’ll start with a brief overview of the Toolkit and then show you how to access free of charge for 30 days.

Toolkit Overview

Athens

Athens sends a direct message to users who follow you on Twitter and can automatically unfollow users who unfollow you.

Berlin

Berlin automatically retweets and favourites tweets posted by a given Twitter user.

Copenhagen

Copenhagen retweets and favourites tweets containing a given hashtag or search term.

Dublin

Dublin reads RSS or Atom feeds. To identify the feed, search for “RSS” or “atom” on the page you would like to follow or try, e.g. http://example.com/feed and paste the feed URL into a source field.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh responds to twitter replies with a couple of relevant sentences from a source URL which has been mentioned in the twitter thread.

Frankfurt

Frankfurt will monitor the given source URLs for articles or content containing the given search terms. It will then create a “recommended reading” Medium blog post with a summary of the most relevant articles and links to the source.

Geneva

Geneva will publicise the blog posts created by Frankfurt on twitter. If Frankfurt is not active, Geneva will do nothing.

Helsinki

Helsinki will monitor the given source URLs for articles or content containing the given search terms, and create a short Medium blog post summarising each article it finds with a link to the original source.

Istanbul

Istanbul will provide the blog posts created by Frankfurt and Helsinki with a stock photo if it is enabled.

How to access free of charge for 30 days

All Toolkits are accessible through the Etic Lab SaaS Platform. Simply register at https://app.eticlab.co.uk/register free of charge for 30 days. No need to enter any credit/debit card details.

From the Dashboard, you can navigate to the Twitter Toolkit (codenamed Europe) https://europe.eticlab.co.uk/dashboard.

All Toolkits share the same login as the Etic Lab SaaS Platform, so login and authorise Europe: Twitter Toolkit to use your account.

Great, you should now be in Europe: Twitter Toolkit Dashboard.

The first step is to authorise your Twitter account, using the green button on the right-hand side, so that we can tweet on your behalf.

The fields on the left-hand side allow you to administer the different tools.

Use the checkboxes on the right-hand side to toggle the tools on/off.

Don’t forget to click the save button at the bottom of the page!

Note the tools run automatically every hour, so don’t panic if you don’t see your tweets straight away.

We hope you enjoy using the Twitter Toolkit, and as always would love to hear your feedback and suggestions for new tools. Simply email team@eticlab.co.uk

Over the next few weeks, tom@eticlab.co.uk will be taking an in-depth look at how each tool works and their uses.
